Lumen is a study app. It helps you keep track of your work, study it, and see where you stand.
Keep your login to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
If you are under 13, a parent or guardian has to say yes before you can make an account, and some features (AI, Squads and leaderboards) stay off. If you are under 18, check with a parent or guardian before paying.
Lumen is a subscription. Prices are shown before you pay and are charged through Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Settings, and you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
If something goes wrong with a payment, email hey@lumenbyjonah.com.
Your work stays yours. Uploading it to Lumen does not give away any ownership of it.
You are giving permission for Lumen to process it in order to run the features you asked for, and that is all.
Essay Review exists to tell you what to fix. It will not write your essay, and it is not built to help you hand in work that is not yours. What you do with the feedback is on you, and so is following your school's rules on AI.
Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload.
Squads are for people who want to study together. Be kind. Do not post anything that harasses, threatens or targets someone, anything hateful or sexual, spam, or anything you do not have the right to share. Lumen has no room for any of it.
Squad names, pacts, notes and comments are written by students. Lumen holds back comments and squad names with words on a short blocked list, but most of what students write is not checked before other people see it. You can report any post, comment or note, and block anyone, from the ... menu on it. Jonah reads every report and aims to answer within 48 hours. Lumen can remove what breaks these rules and close the account that posted it, without warning.
Lumen's AI features can be wrong. Notes, quizzes, extracted dates and essay feedback are all generated, and generated things make mistakes.
The grade Essay Review estimates is a guess. It is not your grade. Your teacher gives you your grade.
Check anything that matters against the real source. Your syllabus is the truth about your deadlines, not the app's copy of it.
You can delete your account whenever you want.
Lumen can close an account that is being used to break these terms or to harm other people.
These terms may change. If they change in a way that matters, the app will tell you.
